New tank, my water params are now excellent for slowly adding fish.

Would the list be in the best order for introducing the fish.
The introductions would be every 1-2 weeks, thus 3-4 months.
I have 1" fine argonite substrate and 160lbs LR. W

Livestock wish list:

2 green chromis
3 Lyretail Anthias 1m/2f
3 Yellow tangs (sm)
1 blue Hippo Med
1 Leopard Wrasse
1 Flame angel (sm)
1-2 Pearl Jawfish
2 lawnmower blennies
1 Sohal Tang (sm) or 1 Purple RedSea Tang
2 Clarkii or True Perculas
1 Mandarin (after 6 mo, I have a refug)

Any major problems with the above list?

I know the Sohal could grow quite large and be a little aggressive, maybe with the Hippo.

I also know the flame angel might get hungry for corals, it's a 50/50.

Thanks
Doug

The sohal would grow to large and be aggressive (not just a little) to every fish.. If you go the three yellow tang route i would skip the purple tang and just go with the hippo.. Im not sure if two lawnmower blennies would get along in the same tank but being a 6ft it could work i would watch that closely. The leopard wrasse will compete with the madarin over the pod population so unless you have a very large refuge this might be a difficult challenge trying to keep both.. As for jawfish they like a deep sandbed and not sure if 1 inch would be ideal for them. I would also do 3-5 chromis instead.

Other then that this is how i would put the fish in..
3-5 Green Chromis
Your pair of clown choice
3 Lyretail Anthias
1 LWM blenny
1 Hippo tang (sm)
1 Flame Angel
1 Leopard Wrasse/Mandarin or both if you choose...
3 Yellow tangs all sm as you can find...

I would also qt first for 3-6 weeks, if you don't i would wait 3-4weeks before the next addition to your tank. Hope this helps some!

Thanks for the great recommendations and advice.

The Sohal would be one of the favorities, but not for everyone. I will have to do without.

On the clown pair being the second addition, I was thinking about a hosting RBTA. Should the anemone go in 1-2 wks prior to the clowns?

On the jawfish, should he go in before or after the blenny? Would it matter? Hopefully the jawfish will burrow away from the RBTA. I've heard that if you start their tunnel and put a little crushed coral, they will usually burrow the first place they are placed?

Thanks
Doug

I would wait on a RBTA for atleast six months to let you tank stable out some.. The clowns will be fine without one and in time they will host it or not. Not sure on the jawfish but i would probably add them first the blenny can be a little nippy at times espically those who live within the same territory as the blenny.. Out of the two i've own only my first was like this the second dosent mind any other fish infact tonight i witness my juvi emp cleaning him...

Ive read where u can keep purple and yellow tangs together if u add them all at the same time...Id go 2 yellow and a purple! as for the anemone, I added my BTA 3 months after I started my tank and it has done fine! As long as the water is stable, go for it!

I'm thinking about changing the green chromis to 3 and the lyretail to 5 (1m/4f). Would this be ok?

Also would like to add firefish, should there be 2 or 3?

Would a Coral Beauty be an better than the Flame angel? I will be having corals.

Revised list:
3 Green Chromis
Pair True Perculas
5 Lyretail Anthias (1m/4f)
1 LWM blenny
1 Hippo tang (sm)
1 Flame Angel
1 Leopard Wrasse/Mandarin or both if you choose...
2 Yellow tangs all (sm)
1 Purple Tang

Thanks
Doug
