My first question. Here is my fish stocking list for the 120 gallon tank and the order I believe I should stock it in. Please advise if you would go in a different order.

- 2 juvenile Clownfish (False Percula Tank Raised)
- Watchmen goby with Pistol Shrimp
- Copperband Butterfly
- 6 Green Chromis Fish
- Lineatus Fairy Wrasse
- Bartletts Anthias
- Royal Gamma
- Potters Angelfish
- Mandarin Goby - 1 year after tank matures

I wouldn't do it like that. Clowns are aggressive.

I would go:
-Watchman Goby
-Copperband(Tough fish, make sure it's eating in store)
-Potters Angel
-3x Barlett's Anthias(I would cut the chromis)
-Lineatus
-Royal Gramma
-Clowns

You could think about doing more anthias, or a different fish like a small tang. Any zebrasoma or bristletooth would work well.

Thank you BigBlueTang. I appreciate the advice.

Any time :)

I wish you luck with the copperband butterfly and potters angel, neither are easy fish and I would strongly suggest you quarantine, especially if you start buying fish in the price range of a C. Lineatus. Buying from reefers breaking down their setups or businesses that condition their fish(Diver's Den or Among the Reef) will also help your success rates!

What do you think about this order (and number of fish)?
2 firefish
1 royal gramma
2 oc clownfish
3-5 pajama cardinalfish

Could I combine some since I have a 29 gal QT? (Like the firefish and gramma)

Thanks!

You won't have problem with adding these fishes. Specific order is unlikely of much significant.
All the smaller fish at once if you can, or what ever order you get them. The angel and CBB last, but even fist it should be OK too.

In my experience, the only success I've had with copperbands are a. if they're eating in store and b. if there enough pods etc. in the tank to help sustain it. I'm not sure a copperband and a mandarin would be compatible

Also you might want to double think the addition of the Mandarin. It may not fair well with the competition for pods with the wrasse, cooperband, potters angel, and the watchmen goby. Just a suggestion.

I think your fish list is good. You could probably get away with a few more small fish too, like smaller flasher wrasses or some more anthias. I would remove the chromis, they generally end up killing eachother. I have a mandarin with 5 fairy wrasses and 1 leopard wrasse in my 180, and it is really, really fat. I think it should be ok after the tank matures, but if you do decide to add it make sure you are able to culture / add in more pods incase the pod population cannot sustain itself. +1 copperband is a really tough fish, they get sores and lesions out of nowhere and are really really picky eaters. Potters are just hard to get to eat in general.

Great info Kremis. I will probably end up removing the Copperband. What other angel fish would you suggest for 120 gallon tank. Coral Beauty or Flame Angel I'm familiar with and believe those are both hardy. Could you tell me your thoughts on those two dwarf angels?

I think the mandarin will be fine as well. We have 4 wrasses in our 120 and the only one that gives the mandarin any competition is the leopard wrasse. We feed multiple times a day though so she only snacks on the rocks between feedings. Mandarin is doing quite well. Good luck!

The rhomboidalis fairy Wrasse does look pretty amazing. Think I will add that onto my list! Thanks theshocker
