Stockman Aquasilencer-Need Help

I purchased an 1.5" Aquasiliencer from you guys and need some help.

I keep getting the flushing noise every 5 minutes or so. Does this mean too much or too little flow going through the pipe.

When I had the pump running wide open, the flushing noise was happening every 15-20 secs. When I dialed the pump down, it seemed to help.

I'm running a Wahoo return pump which I'm estimating between 15-20 feet of head loss.

Thanks,

Bill

Bill,

The tube that goes into the bell on the top just needs adjusted. Just push it in or pull it out until you can find that happy median to where the flushing goes away.

How long should the tube be?

They provide a tube that is 7-8" long. Should I cut the tube down because I left the tube at 7-8".

I tried adjusting the tube which seems to do nothing. The instrucations provided by the company say nothing that moving the tube for adjuestments.

The instructions have an email address in them of the company that makes them but got an undeliverable message come back to me. Do you have one from them?

Bill,

Do you have a 12" - 15" tube you could try? However, my tube is only running around 1" - 1.5" into the bell, so I wouldn't think you would be too far off of that. You also might consider getting a small micro valve for the air line and see if that helps the flushing, by adjusting it.

Unfortunately the manufacturer has us support these, since they're an OEM product for us. They don't have a contact to go back to for them.

Thanks,
Jeremy

The tube I have is in that 12-15" range. I thought it was shorter but when trying to adjust it the other night, I realized that it was longer.

Are you suppose to live the air line at 12-15" long as it comes or are you supppose to cut it so only 2-3" hang outside the bell?

Also, I turned the return pump down but I feel it should be able to handle more than what its currently doing.

Bill,

Don't cut the tube. Try sticking it in right to the 1" - 1.5" mark and see what happens. The way these work is all about a balance of flow, versus air burping, etc. If you can't get it work you might put a little valve on the end of it, so you can control the air flow and see if you can adjust easier this way.

Still having issues with this thing. I went on your website and noticed that the Stockman I have is different than the one on your website.

The one have is all white PVC and the bottom of the bell has teeth.

Has their been a design change versus the one I have?

If so, would it be worth trying the new one versus what I currently have?

Thanks

Hi Bill,

That sounds like the old model that you have. You might try the new design to see if it works any better, but to be honest I can't see there being a difference on it. The tube diameters are the same, and flow through should be the same capacity as well. Did you try putting a ball valve on the end of the tube and adjusting it?

Thanks,
Jeremy

The top of the bell should not go higher than the top of the overflow correct? Basically I shouldnt be able to see the stockman when looking at my tank except for the airline hose?

Hi Bill,

Yes, the top of the bell can go higher. I have mine set up so that the water level in the tank versus the water level in the back overflow compartment has 1" of level difference.

Any small ball valve from Lowe's / Home depot would work. You can then adjust the air coming out of there.

Hi Bill, the airline is 3/8" on that. Take it with you to Lowe's / HD and you should be able to match something up to it just fine.
