Over the last three days, I noticed a bit of microalgae blooming in the water column. Water looked a bit cloudy. Today, crystal clear and skimmer is chugging along. I'm fully expecting a diatom and cyano bloom at some point (although it would be nice to avoid that altogether). I'll try to same patient approach.
If I've learned nothing else in this hobby, it's patience. I didn't panic when I saw the cloudiness and just let the tank find its way home. The result is hopefully an even stronger bacterial population. I'm probably ready for a coral now but I'm going to stick with my six week schedule. First corals should go in around the second week in May.
