i was wondering, does any one (Dr. Roy) know what/how many species inhabit north carolinas coastal waters? particularly in the outer banks region. im going to the outer banks in a few weeks and was just wonderin what species i may be able to find there.
i saw on Roy's list that N. wennerae inhabit the carribean all the way up to north carolina....how far north are they found typically? do they inhabit the outer banks region?

You can find empusa sp. in morehead by fishing out the shrimp trawlers. Beyond that I fished around Radio Island , Fort macon, and shackleford banks without to much success BUT it was very stormy and visibility was very low. Though Glab's and Wennerae should haunt the area.

Squilla empusa and Squilla rugosa are your best bet, but there are about a dozen species in the area including N. wennerae, Nannosquilla, and Coronida.
