Strange flat hitchikers

I have had these things in my tank for a while, and I have been curious about what they are. I see several in the day, but alot more come out at night. I see them on the walls, and on some of the rocks. They are flat bugs, but move so slow you cannot see them move, and they kind of slide from place to place. Their bodies are hard. Their colors are purple, tan, white, sometimes they have brown or black lines. they are pretty small. I was thinking they were flatworms, but they do not look like what I see in the pictures.What are these?

How big are they? Do they sort of have an oval shell that is conical and low profile?

nevermind, I found out. They are small chitons. They only eat algae, so theyre harmless. Thanks for answering
