Strange Growth

My tank is about 6 months since the initial cycle and I have added a couple soft coral frags in the last month. Anyway, I found this on a rock (looks like only on this one rock) and I cannot tell if it is aiptasia or not. If not, I am curious what this is.

Sorry for the potato quality pic, but it is the best I could do.

Thanks in advance!

It does look kind of odd, but I wouldn't treat it any different than you would an aiptasia. Better safe than sorry IMO. GL.

Hmm, thanks guys... I may pull that rock and sump it or just QT it to see what happens. If I got a peppermint shrimp, would it eat the potential pest anemone?

A peppermint shrimp might start picking at some of your corals too. There's plenty of horror stories out there... Just something to consider.

If you can take that rock out of the tank fairly easy, just burn that thing off with a cigarette lighter. Piece of cake.
