Strange snail id please.

I found this wierd snail crawling up the back wall of my tank. Any ideas? It moves wierd. The body moves and then the shell moves kinda like an inch worm.

I have something similar, but this is just a guess. Possibly Donax variabilis aka coquina?

It's actually an Ark Clam, either an Acar or Barbatia species. I was shocked the first time I ever saw one climbing the glass, but yes, they can climb. It will normally be attached to the bottom of a dead coral slab or rock, but it if gets in a position it doesn't like (or where it doesn't get the food it needs) it will detach and look for a better spot. That's probably what yours is doing. It's harmless.

Thats cool. I wish i didnt throw it in my folwr lol. im pretty sure my picasso had his way with it. Do they get big like other clams in the trade?

That particular one only gets to about an inch long, maybe slighty larger. There are others in the same family that get up to four or five inches.

Thats an intersting creature. Can all clams move or just that type?

They can pretty much all move but not many can climb aquarium walls.
