Strange white jelly floating in tank

I have a tank that's about 4 months established, currently in week 8 of a fallow period. I shut off the pump today and when I turned it on again, my tank was filled with thousands of whitish, jelly-like films, ranging from 1 to 3 inches in length. At first, I thought it might be calcium deposits, but they actually appear organic. When I collect them in a fish net, it forms a white, gelatinous mass. It was basically settled in the return chamber of the sump, and was stirred up with the pump cycling.

Can anyone tell me what this stuff is? I'll try to post a photo tomorrow, if needed.

140 gallon total volume
2 x cleaner shrimp, 40 hermits
3 x Kessil A360 lamps
1 x eFlux 3170 main pump
2 x eFlux 2100 wave pumps

Water parameters all within normal range.
