Strawberry brown cake!!!

Just curious I have a ssc frag I got from copps awhile back that's has great color ... And recently got 2 big wild pieces ... That are completely brown one has a slight hint of green ... I'm just wondering if anyone know or has had any exp with wild ssc's? How do the do etc.... Do they color up ,stay brown ,die? Thanks I'll post pics also they both have good pe and seem healthy otherwise ... Doesn't sound as good called strawberry brown cake lol

I doubt you will have a hard time with them. They sure look nice and in time should color back up for you. Medium flow and medium light for now and you should be on your way to SSC heaven.

That's the picture of health next to mine. I picked up the ORA shortcake and it has been completely dark brown since I got it. I preordered it at my LFS. I figure I have a long road ahead if it even survives. The notes on it say that it is a slow grower.
 
I got a Wild one and believe it or not it is right under a D120 LED panel with the LEDS 75% and whites 10%. It seems to like the LED Blue at about > 700 PAR with higher flow 24" in front of a MP60. Polyps are out all of the time. Seems to be growing fast.

I have a wild one. Was brown when I got it. Color came back within a few weeks in a high light , high flow area. It did take forever to start growing though, but once it did, it really took off.

In my experience the SS browns out easily and takes its time to color up. Just give it some time and stability, it looks like you are already on your way.
 
Thanks for the replys everyone both the pics posted look greets I'm excited !!!i raised one of the pieces up today see what happens!!!
