Streaking Glass

Ok....What is best to clean your glass? I am using Windex with microfiber cloths and I still get streaking and a hazy look. What does everyone use? Any suggestions? This is driving me crazy!

I use generic glass cleaner on a paper towel. Seems to work until the kids (and their little fingers) come back.

Yeah, my munckis love to get on the stepstool and point stuff out to each other with their little yogurt covered fingers all the time!:spin1:

I myself never use anything like glass cleaner anywhere near my tank. I just use vinagar and water in a spray bottle and dry with a dry paper towel.

You need a squeegee. I spray the front of my tank with water spiked w/ a small ammount of alcohol generously. Let it sit for a few secs to disolve then squeegee it off with a small shower stall type squeegee. IT works like a charm and I'm not using any chemical I don't trust near the tank.

Yogurt covered fingers are better than some other things I've had to clean. I'll leave it at that.

I usually spray the paper towel while in the kitchen and then use the damp paper towel on the tank. I would never spray near the tank.

I also spray it on the towel and then take it to the tank. I hear Windex is bad for reefs! ;) I am going to try the squeegee idea.

i use the coralife glass cleaner it works awesome.. also after a few uses the water and anything else tends to just bead off and doesnt stick to the glass..

I use ordinary glass cleaner and spray it on the paper towel away from the tank. To get rid of any streaks I fold up another dry paper towel and put it under my mag float. Once I go over the glass with that all the streaks are gone.
