Stream 6000 keeps beeping

Roger-

Wondering if you can help trouble-shoot why my Stream 6000 keeps giving that warning beep every few days. Using it with a multicontroller to pulse between 30% and 80%. It is VERY clean right now and in fact, it lately has even given that warning beep even right after I've thoroughly cleaned it. Usually it beeps for 20-30 seconds and then it finally starts back up. A couple times (like tonight) it wouldn't start back up until I took it apart.

The past few times I've taken it apart, the red rubber O-ring is not seated on the bottom of the impeller magnet shaft. I have found it inside the base unit out of place. But I dont know if that is what causes the stream to stop, or if it is just coming un-seated when I pull out the shaft to take it apart. Just a thought.

Any help?

I think the problem is that the upper bearing is stuck to the magnet- see the sticky thread at the top of the forum.

If you are seeing the oring, the bearing must be stuck to the magnet- these are two seperate pieces and the magnet should spin on the bearing which sits on top of the oring.

That's it Roger. The magnet is definitely attached to the bearing on mine then.

So should I just soak the whole magnet-shaft-bearing assembly in vinegar and then pry them apart to fix it? I guess I'll clean the nside of the magnet while I'm at it.

And then how do I get the bearing back down into the stream housing? Just plop it down at the bottom? Does it just rest at the bottom there easily, or is there somthing else I should know about that?

I just pry them apart by gently working around the diameter with a butter knife or slotted screwdriver. Then soak in vinegar.

Then, just place it on the end of the magnet and push the whole assembly back down in there.

So if I place it on the end of the magnet and push the whole assembly back down in there, they wont be stuck together again?
