Stream/Controller Question

I just received my dual 6100s with 7094 Multicontroller. The units seem to be of very high quality; however, the documentation, particularly on the Multicontroller, is not as clear as it could be.

While I wait to get my 180 set up, I am running one of the 6100s on my 90. Is it possible for me to get this single unit either (i) to switch on and off at fairly short intervals (like a conventional wavemaker) or (ii) to cycle between the minimum flow rate and some higher flow rate?

With the unit plugged in to the Multicontroller at socket number "8", the only setting that seems to create any kind of variable flow is the "pulse" setting. I would like something more like a full on and off or a gradual ramping up and down of flow. Are either of these possible?

You could set the two pulse knobs at say 30% and 50%- top and bottom on channel one. This would give you the gentle pulse. You could also plug one pump into 8 and another into 12 and set to tide mode and use a 1min interval to go back and forth between two pumps- one off and one on.
