I have 1 each 6085 and 6125 for my 150 deep dimension reef tank. What would be the best placement and direction for the 2 stream pumps.
The tank has 1 corner overflow and the rock is stacked from the overflow to the center of the tank.
The 6085 will have more reach and a higher velocity of flow so I would place it closer to SPS colonies and the 6125 has a wider more diffuse flow so it would be better suited for LPS. I would use this to decide which goes on which side, and place one in each back corner, of course with the overflow it could mount on the overflow or in front or beside it. I would aim them so they hit the front about 1ft before the opposite front corner. They should be about 6-8" from the top.
Hi Roger,
Thanks for the quick response. Should I mount them both at the same height?
Also, by having them point towards the opposite front corner, the flow from both pumps will be crossing if I understand you correctly.
Thanks again,
Kent
