stream or turbelle

Hi,

I'm in the UK and looking at replacing my collection of powerheads in a Juwel 260 Litre bow front reef tank, (121lx62hx46d cm) with either the turbelle tf03/tf04 (7300/7400 with 7091 controller) or stream TS7 (6000 with 7091 controller).

There is just a 1 cm layer of very course crushed coral as substrate.

Would be keeping mainly soft corals with perhaps an odd lps/sps and anemone.

Which would you recommend? (I'm aiming for the quietest as (lack of) noise is very important)

Thanks,

Jen.

A TF03 would be my best recommendation for this size and type of corals. Expect the pump will make a bit of noise. They are pretty quiet but one brand new they make a slight noise until a few weeks pass and the parts wear in. After that you do here them change speed within say a .5 meter distance from the aquarium, it is a slight change in pitch from a low hum to a slightly higher pitch hum. I can barely hear it unless I am right up on the tank but I have mediocre hearing so I think some people perceive it more than I do. It is definitely quieter than the chattery start of most powerheads when used on wavemakers.
