Stream Question

Roger,

I received the 6000 Stream today. It is great and I am already going to order another w/ the multi-controller.

I ordered the 3000.244 Mount kit and mounted to the back of the tank. The kit was missing the small nut. Can you send me that part or do I take that up with Marine Depot?

Also, I have two questions about placement when I receive my other 6000 & Multi-controller (my tank is a 120 48x24x24): Should the Streams be on opposite sides facing each other, or can I put them in the back corner facing the opposite front corner? Shoud I us a alternating current (one on other off) or Random?

What is the closest a SPS can be to the stream output?

Thanks,
Jim

I can send a nut- PM me an address and I will get to it on Tuesday (MLK day will stop shipping Monday). You can also cut a short piece of the tube that came with the kit and use that for the time being.

Acroporas are OK up to 4" from the outlet (depends on type the beefier more robust forms can be closer than dainty ones- acclimate slowly). Montiporas and porites I think should generally be at least 10" from the 6000.

I would say either positioning will work and I would use tide mode so they alternate or use pulse so one is on high when the other is on low- both work and which one to use depends on several factors. I find it is risky to have the pump off with small snails and hermits as they will crawl into the pump and when it restarts it will brake the drive shaft.
