Stream Slow Down?

Reefer
I have had 2 Stream 6060's in my 75 gallon tank for a couple of months now but it seems that the output from them both has decreased since they were first added. I have down the normal maintenance; taking them apart and cleaning the inflow screen and the impellar but that did not seem to help.

Any other advice for cleaning these guys to keep them producing the flow?

Thanks,
Scott Z.

I can't think of any way this could happen. I would really clean everything thoroughly, the only two causes would be internal friction usually from the upper bearing or bush bearing on the rotor or the intake screen has corallin growth. Try straight vinegar soaking for a few hours.

Could you please explain how to correctly clean streams? I have a 7400/2 and a 6000 stream hooked up to a 7094 multicontroller. I have a 120g reef. Thanks

The manual gives some illustartions. I would remove the drive unit (prop or impeller coupled to a magnet rotor) clean this part thoroughly with a toothbrush and vinegar, if fouled with lime soak it overnight. Be sure all parts move freely and are clean. I would then fill the bore with vinegar and let it sit for a few hours before rinsing it throughly with freshwater and using a soft brush.

Thanks for the help. I knew about soaking the prop but I did not know you could soak the bore. I wondered but didn't want to ruin my stream. I misplaced my manual. It wasn't a problem really but I was curious on the cleaning. I got all my equipment in E. Lansing, MI. I am very pleased with how they work! Thanks again...
