Streams 6100 won't idle

Roger,

I have a Streams 6100 (one of three) on a 7095 controller. The alarm has been going off, have cleaned per the FAQ and soaked in vinegar solution overnight and it now runs at higher speed, but stops at idle speed. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

john

Usually a low speed stop means the upper bearing is stuck to the magnet, the magnet should spin freely on the bearing and not be stuck to it.

It was stuck and now is not. However the idling is still a problem. Think I should swap out with the newer Hydropropeller?

Thanks,

John

Usually that means the bearing was damaged or is still too rough. You could get a new one or double check both the bottom of the drive unit and the surface of the bearing, they should spin very smoothly on each other.

OK ... will fiddle around with it more tonight. Have already ordered a new Prop. As usually thanks for the quick and useful responses. It is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Roger,

Finally got the replacement propeller (new kind) and tried it out yesterday with the same results. I get the alarm when the unit idles and the alarm stops momentarily while the unit is running at higher speeds. What should I do now?

Thanks in advance,

John

Did you change every part that came with the propeller? This includes the bearing bush and upper bearing?
