Streams on a timer...diff question.

Hey Roger,
I have a different kind of streams on a timer question.
My Chevron Tang absolutely loves the film algae that builds on the outputs of the streams.
Whenever I push the food timer button, he eats what I feed and darts to the streams afterwords.
I was wondering if the streams would be harmed if I plugged them into a timer that would kill power to them for one hour a day so the Tang could get its fill.

I do not want to use it as a wave maker at all.
Just to kill the power for an hour.

No problem Sean, just keep in mind that most of the lime precipitation occurs during off cycles so the more the pumps are off the more frequently they should be cleaned.
