Strontium and Oceanic Salt

I have tested for strontium twice now once about 10 month ago and once this week both test results were 0-3ppm of strontium, thatââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s as low as my Salifert kit goes.

So I assume this is an Oceanic salt issue. I have used Oceanic from day one. Some corals grow very fast some grow extremely slow. I have very little, compared to some, coralline growth. I use a calcium reactor with ARM media my levels are below.

Temp = 79-80f
Ph = 8.1 night 8.3day
Calcium = 430-440ppm
Alk = 8.8 - 9dkh
Magnesium = 1350ppm
Strontium = 0-3ppm

Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m going to start dosing strontium to get it to 15ppm, to see what happens.

Anyone else use Oceanic salt and dose or not dose strontium? Have you had similar observations?

No need to bump in this forum. I work from the bottom up each day, so bumping means I get to it more slowly. :D

So I assume this is an Oceanic salt issue.

Oceanic says they leave strontium out of the recipe. So if you want strontium, you may well have to add it. I do not know if it is necessary or not, but why target 15 ppm? That seems high.

Randy, thanks for the link I'll be shooting for 8ppm now.
I think I will be changing brands of salt real soon. Only two water changes away from an empty bucket.
