'Stubby' RBTA Tentacles

Hi there,
My RBTA's tentacles have become rather stubby recently. Before the tentacles were long but now theyre very small and ball like (not bubble like).
The only thing that has changed is an extra powerhead going into the tank...but i noticed that the tentacles were like this before.
I must admit i havent been as generous with feeding for the past couple of weeks....with a feeding once every weeek instead of 3 times a week...do you reckon this could be the cause?
I'll increase the feeding to once everyday and see if that helps it regain its strength...do you agree?

Ah...i may know what it is....i saw an aiptasia's tentacle attached to it the other day...stinging it? I quickly got my hand in the tank and knocked it off..then the nem swelled up into a ball and then when it opened up, it was noticeably smaller.
Will it recover?

How is the color of it? does it look like its bleaching? usually stubby sparse tenticales are are sign of bad health and insufficiant light. I'm not sure that cutting back the feeding would be the cuase as long as the lighting is good enough.

Also off topic, where in Essex are you? I was born and raised in Essex until 3 years ago when i moved out here to the US.

Can you get a picture?

Like "dalston" said, this could be a bad sign, but would like to see a picture to make sure.

And how about posting some tank spec (( size, and light )) and water parameters (( with numbers ))

This morning it looks a bit better. The anemone itself is a lot bigger and the tentaclea are looking better. The colour of it is still the same, nice deep red.
Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0-a tiny bit pink, but very transparent
Nitrate-5
pH-8.2
Calcium-450

The lighting is about 5-6wpg. I use 3 PC bulbs which are 24w each on a 18"x12"x15"
What do you think about the aiptasia...could that have caused it...that's what I personally think did
