Stucked together crocea

Hi,

I have a crocea that managed to stick itself to another larger crocea. The larger crocea is sitting upright and doing fine while the smaller one is on its side and not getting as much light (its bottom stuck to one side of the larger one.) Should I separate them? I don't know how to do so without injuring the smaller one.

tip the smaller clam to one side so you can see the byssal threads, then take a sharp knife and cut the threads as far away from the clam as you can.this will not hurt the clam at all

Great! Thank you very much for the advice. I am going to do the little surgery this afternoon. They have been stuck together for awhile. It feels like separating siamese twins.
