hey guys. its been a long hard row, trying to get this tank off of the ground. ive had a deployment overseas and things at the house that needed tending to. so finally ive been able to put all focus back on my tank. ive done a bunch of replanning which ill get into later. first i wanted to offer up some equipment that i no longer have a need for.
6 40lbs bags of caribsea special grade arag--20 bucks a bag
3 250 watt metal halide f-can ballast--50 bucks a ballast
(ballasts are practically brand new only used to fire up the bulbs maybe 4 times for 5-10 minutes each time. ive decided to go with an electic ballast instead)
3 96 watt power compact fluorescent ballast--15 bucks a ballast
this stuff will be available for pick up the weekend of the 10th.
now for the tank. my original plans for building a spare room for my equipment have been chucked (cleary one of those eyes bigger than my stomach situations) in favor of smaller pieces of equipment that preform the same function and being using my space more effeciently. heres a tank shot.
i chose to go with a refug in sump design instead of a dedicated refug

for top off i took 3 5 foot lengths of 4" pvc and capped them. these will be my storage for make up water which will flow in via a 5 float switch 5 solenoid valve system wired in a series-parallel configuration for redundancy on top of redundancy (im paranoid, what can i tell ya).

for my circulation i decided to go with a oceansmotions 4 way drum after all the praise ive read on it i figured id give it a try as i didnt want to go the tunze stream route. the drum is hooked up to a sequence dart.
i bought a used saltwater solutions kalkwasser reactor and still have the mrc calcium reactor
and thats pretty much whats going on with the tank. i hope to fill her up with watter by next friday (still got some minor things to do to it). ill post pics when i do. post or pm me if any of you are interested in the for sale stuff. thanks -amnesiac
