Stuff Tangs eat

I'm asking about stuff you have fed yourself, not hearsay or 2nd hand knowledge.
I have fed in the past;
Broccoli heads (they tend to only eat the bright green polyps of the crown)
Fresh kale
cucumber heart (I had a Nasso that loved the stuff, currently my purple tang will guard it but only pick at it)
homemade powdered Spirulina leather (clean-up crew loves it, fish take small portions over a few hours)
homemade powdered kale leather (cleanup crew, fish take little interest):facepalm:
homemade kelp leather (no interest from anything)

Did they like the kale? My daughter has a parakeet that likes kale, but we can't feed her enough to use up the whole container. If my fish will eat it, I'll put it to good use.

I've only ever fed mine nori and Sea Veggies.

I used powdered Kale and it was not popular with most of the fish. However I have tested mixing small amounts with Spirulina, kale and nori as a thick dry wafer I pinned to the glass with a mag. That got a lot of attention from my blonde naso. It seemed to really like how the texture was chewy and a bit of a workout to rip apart. The cleanup crew finished every last speck. I plan to do another batch in a few weeks.

My experience is from back in the 80's when I had fish only tanks. I remember they would go after the spinach pretty good. Hit or miss on the kale. I just remembered I would also feed sweet peas and they liked them. I had yellow tangs by the way. I would thaw frozen peas and rub them into dead coral skeletons and drop them in the tank. They would immediately start picking the coral clean.

That's great information briwill99 :fish1:
I'm adding peas to my shopping list.
