Stunning Red haddoni at LFS...

Well I purchased this red Tassod started this thread with few weeks back. Anyone know how long the gaping mouth should last? Will it close eventually? Other than that it seems healthy. It attached as soon as it was introduced, no inflate / deflate yet and fed a few times.
Should I be concerned?

wookie, thats awesome! How is he doing? Can you post some pics? I would stand by and be ready to treat it.

That sounds good. Mouth open may not be an indication of health. I got a very healthy Gigantea for the last 14 months. He grew from 6 inches to 18 inches and still have mouth open a lot of the time.

Thank you for the reassurance Minh.
I'll try to post a pic later Tassod, just did a water change and the water is hazy from vacuuming the sand.

HAHA... He posted it and you took it... LOL

YES... I would like to see some pictures too.

This is the mouth of my Gigantea. It often a lot bigger than this even. He is really healthy and grew from 6 inches to about 18 inches over this last 1.5 years

BTW, unlike many people believe, having lipstick does not mean that he is a Haddoni. My Gigantea have reddish purple lipstick as above

The tank is a DD Marineland 150, it's been up for a couple years. Initial plans were for a SPS tank but decided against it. Only live stock were a couple of clowns. And now two haddoni's. So keeping it strictly an anemone tank for now.
I'll keep you posted on the health. Today I found it moved away from the rocks more towards the center and pushed a ton of sand while doing it. I hope it's just trying to find it's spot and nothing more.

The red is doing fine but has not settled yet. My clown finally found it though. Not sure why it's still moving. Maybe not enough sand? Sands about 4".
My green has stayed put.

Tassod, that red nem is gorgeous. A few lfs to me have had them in the past and not nearly as colorful and they sell from $400 and up. Something like that would probably go for at least $600-700. D nak could probably concur on the pricing for a red that nice. If I was in the market that nem would be in my holding tank getting cipro treatments and I wouldn't even bat an eye about the price. And I would take my chances for the price and how beautiful the colors were.
