Stupid Turbo snail

I had a turbo snail fall off the glass on to one of my prized fungias and it cut its flesh when this happened. Now a few days later it is starting to show some skeleton but the other half is still puffing out and eating. Will it make it or will this tissue loss just overcome the entire fungia?

never toss a fungia. They can lose every single bit of surface tissue and still recover by creating new little baby clones as anthocauli on the skeleton.

Im definately going to keep the skeleten if it doesnt come back from this. Im just going to keep my hopes up and try to nurse it back

I had an orange plate do the same thing and it recovered fully in about 2-3 weeks.

Just take care of it how you have been and don't stress about it.

Its now about half skeleton, im not messing with it at all. Moved it away from the glass and havent messed with it since.

Sadly it is a complete goner. Down to about 25% flesh left. Im still going to keep the skeleton in hopes of it spawning a new plate. Im thinking about getting rid of my turbo snails just because of this, lol $1 snail or a $75 plate coral. I know who will win that one every time
