Nice to meet some of you. I was impressed for my first meeting. I hope to meet more of you at more up coming meetings. Thanks again. Ben

My first meeting as well. My only suggestion...name tags! I know there were several new people there and it would have been nice to meet the people I have talked to on RC.

I had a good time as well and look forward to attending future meetings. It is a little awkward trying to introduce yourself but not too bad as everyone is really friendly.

The name tags are in the works

It was nice to meet you all too I think we ended up with 10 new members

I am glad I finally joined. It was a fun meeting and great location. I look foward to the future meetings.

Hey, I thought it was a great job done by the board and everyone that pitched in at the tables. I think the corals of the month were awesome except I didn't get any of them. Maybe next time. A special thanks to Mike and Dannelle for their help, donations, coral of the months, and special group buys. THey seem to have an anwser to every question, and I think they really enjoy helping out. Food, fun, frags, and feeding the sharks, where else would you rather be....Thanks again, Jeff...

Sorry, I missed the meeting...1st frag meeting in 5 years I've missed :-)
So how was the fraggin'? Someone post some pics!

Thank you Ironheads. We're trying to refine our methods for the CofTM. We're going to try something different in the next month or two. Look for more details to be posted on the C-sea forums/website.

Our goal is to get some life back into this club. And it looks like with the hard work and dedication of the board and other club members. things are looking up and up.

Mike,
Don't get me wrong, I personnally appreciate the support you have given the club. But comments like that assume the club is/has been in dire straights, Having been associated with C-SEA for more than a couple of years, I can tell you that is not true. Membership continues to grow. In very recently years we hosted two very successful regional events and have supported and helped grow the very popular All Ohio Frag Swap. New ideas and people are great, but there are many of us who are proud of what has been accomplished in the more than 25 year history of the club.

Also john they're have been many Dark days in this club, and the last 3 years I have been associated with it, we have heard alot of talking and very little action. Chuck is trying his hardest to make these ideas come to light. This club to be an example to the reefing community, and at one time I believe it was. The club needs leadership and we believe it now has that. Not to say that it didn't in the past, but things just didn't get done for whatever the reasons may be. AS far as the regional events, the frag swap has turned out to be a great one, but I think we all agree that NEOMAC was a disaster. I think the club needs to get together and form a commitee
to bring MACNA back to the place where it started. If done right I believe it could be the jump start the club needs. They're was talk a couple years ago to get the 2007 one, but it never materialized. Those are the instances I am talking about.

Our involvement serves no purpose except to help raise revenues, and to promote the club. For some reason other companies in the local area, no matter who they are, do not, and have not been invloved for several years now. We would like to change that, share our exeperiences and knowledge, and also learn from others. And hopefully other local business will follow.

I think Salty Critter donated some or all of the corals for the Frag workshop didn't they? If they did they should have been mentioned at the meeting so they can get some exposure also.
Hopefully the new club officers will bring a "can due" attitude back to the club and get some good speakers and great meetings going. I hope that the club will not favor just one local store but try and get all of them involved with supporting the club
and also give them credit for being involved.

Dave

Thank you all for the Frags!!! I really love them.

I also like the comments about name tags.

I do not want to start anything here, but I joined last year at the Christmas party and have went to 4 or 5 meetings since. I always find something new and interesting at every meeting. I am using this club to gain knowledge and support in a hobby I am still a novice at.

My very small complaint is that no one really ever introduced themselves to me. John, who was the President last year, was the only person that introdcued himself to me. 1 or two others recognized me from my Avitar of my kids on RC.

On the other hand, I am sure many people come and go and it is hard to keep track of people who never really get settled in with the Club.

So the name tags I think are a good idea.

I even would take it a step further and create a board where we post pictures of members and their name. Maybe even their RC name. Just an idea.

See everyone at the next meeting!!

Hey Rad,

On the C-Sea site there is a Members section with only 2 people (and a pooch). I'm trying to get together something for anyone who wants to see my mug shot. Maybe do the same and get the ball rolling? I'd love to see people's tanks, corals (for frag swapping) and setups as well.

Cool,

I will take a look.

Don't think anyone wants to see my tank right now though. Still trying to turn it around. My sump is done and should be installing it this weekend if I can find some Weld-on #16.

So those were your kids running all around.....
lol
Just Kidding.

Yes, those were my two.

Had to bring them because my wife had plans.

Hope they were not too much trouble.

They did get to feed the sharks so they thought it was cool. I also let them place the raffle tickets and they were excited to get a fish for the tank. I have not had fish in my tank for about 9 months now. Now I need to get another one or two so he will not be lonely.

Let me know if you ever are going to frag more green stools. I would sure like to buy one of those from you.

I've been trying to solicit donors via posts to RC and the c-sea site to get the members pics and profiles up on our own site, since so many of us new people, and older members, don't know each other. Not sure you've registered for the forums yet at c-sea.org? I really hope we can get over the 'shyness' and have folks send me their mugs and some sort of profiles on tanks or whatever you like so I can get it all posted on the members page.

My email address is on the site in numerous places (webmaster, officers link, etc..), so, come on guys, show us the pearly whites! :)

Burgman, Salty only donates for the Christmas party. The club has bought all the raffle and frag workshop items from them for years now. We too are selling our items at our cost in the items to the club. Salty gets plenty of exposure. What I meant was that Dan is the only one that is even remotely involved. And he doesn't come to meetings. We'd like to see this "competition" crap go away, and for all of us vendors to get along and work together to help and support the members and the club. This way our knowledge gets shared and we might learn something from the hobbyists too!!
