Hi guys
after being ich free for over 2 years, my powder blue (i know - ich magnet), who has been with me for a few months now is going through the ich cycle. No hope of catching all the fish and putting them in treatment tank.

It is so sad and frustrating to watch, knowing that there isnt much i can do but crossing fingers and hope that some will make it.
Any other suggestions?

All my other fish are still healty (marine beta, clown pair, purple tang, coris wrasse, coral beauty, few green chromis, banggai). Last time, purple and coris were the only survivors...

And, no - i did not add any new fish without all the precautions

I have allways had success with Kent Marine garlic extreme. You take a few frozen cubes of food and put 2 drops on each cube in a cup. When it defrosts you feed the fish. The ich jump off the fish because they don't like the garlic. Only thing is you must have a sucessfull way to eliminate the ich form your water. A UV works best.

Good Luck

I second the uv sterilizer. My PBT also got ich when I added him to my tank. I added a uv sterilizer and he was able to fight it off within a few weeks.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Got a UV, using garlic extract to soak food in and cross all fingers and toes...
Hope there will be enough water flowing through the UV so that most "bugs" get sterilised...

Just one question. Do i understand it correctly that after the free swimming stage of the parasite and once they have been through UV, they will still re-attach to a host, but once the fall off again, they wont multiply anymore???
