Sugarfine

I have a 125 with about 2"'s of sugar sand. I like the look, but I do have to be careful how I aim my flow. Otherwise I end up getting sand drifts in the tank.

I would not put this in an SPS tank with high flow needs.

The size of the grain is one of the most important things for deep sand beds. For that reason the sugar sand is the best. I've used it and it clouds the tank terrible for the first month at least. I had a yellow watchman goby who would wake up in the morning and begin sifting sand. By noon the tank was cloudy. But it goes away. The extremely fine particles are skimmed out eventually and the sand compacts. Sometime a crust forms over the top. Especially if drip kalk. Alot of flow will continue to drift it like jurnaza said.
