Can't believe no one has mentioned cucumbers! Sand eating cucumbers do not eat pods, worms, or, other inverts in the sand...just bacteria and algae and some detritus off the sand. They eat dirty sand, and, poop out clean white sand. I like the black or yellowish gulf cucumbers as they are mobile and will move all around the tank and between rockwork and stay small. Also, they are the least toxic and unlikely to cause problems if they die. I actually had a large one die in my 55 reef a few year back, and even after it nearly dissintergrated while trying to remove it, never caused any issues with the rest of my tank. In your tank, you could add a dozen or even mix up with a few tigertails (don't move around much).
