suggestions about Live Rock reception

a few months ago,I got 22 lbs of LR which I added to a barrel containing some 50 lbs of dry rock. In ignorance,I added way too much ammonia and very most likely destroyed any life on the rock.
Tuesday, I am going to receive 25 additional lbs of LR . Can I mix this in with the first batch of X live rock or just cure it by itself? It seems like all I am doing is trying to cure rock

You could do either. The LR may cycle faster by itself, but cycling with the dry rock will seed it faster. I have a camber in a sump that is dedicated to colonizing dry rock and after a month it is full of color. While you have a chance, you may look in to cooking the dry rock to get it nice and clean.

This dry rock has been soaking in Salt rodi water for 6 months. Sun bleached for 2 weeks and I am going to do an acid bath today and then rinse with Rodi and placed back in rodi tank. My tank wont be delivered till Friday so I have no where else for it to go.
