Suggestions for an out-of-sump skimmer

Whether hang on or plumbed or whatever. What's good yet quiet without having to shell out $500? I'm currently running a Remora which works great, but being 7 feet from my head doesn't make for good nights.

So is the noise from the pump the problem?????
Change the pump, why buy another skimmer. Unless you have a lot of money to spend or just want something new?
I use and like Aqua-C skimmers. I have a Red Sea Berlin turbo I'm going to use because I have it and it can and will work WELL.
Just my opinion.

Its not the actual pump on the Remora that makes the noise. Its the becket injector that makes all the damn noise. I have a remora pro on my tank at work and that damn thing is LOUD. I think your really really limited in terms of HOB and low noise, there almost is no such thing.

Id say put ur skimmer on a timer and have it shut off at night.

Things like tank size, sump/no sump, etc. would help.

I had a bak-pak 2R on my 50 gallon tank that worked great and was basically silent. They go for about $110 typically and will probably have mine for sale soon.

If a hang on skimmer is desired this would be my choice. Best of all, it's an Aqua C.
