Why do my clownfish keep jumping out of the tank. I have a 29g biocube, and everything is fine with the water, and everything is thriving and happy, but one of my O clowns repeated jumps into the back, I find her on the grate in the middle, laying there, who knows how long shes been there for, as im at work all day. Sometimes she gets lucky and gets in one of the other compartments that actually has water in it. My other one has done it once or twice, but she does it every second day!!! Why is she doing this, and what can i do about it?

i have a cardinal fish, who hides in the back and doesnt bother anyone, a firefish, likewise, a dottyback, who picks on my scooter blennie, but thats it, leaves everyone else alone, and a pipefish, who is definatly not picking on anyone. They have all been in there together without a problem for quite some time, but the last few weeks she has gotten suicidal!

2 x clownfish

Do you suspect that this happens when the lights are off? I have a 29 biocube and I've found my female clown in the back chamber once. She sleeps at the surface against the back wall and I think she got caught in the flow and it pushed her over. I have since changed the flow going to the back and haven't had a problem since.

The answer to that is really going to depend on how you have your rocks setup. Worst case scenario just check how high the water gets against the backwall. If it gets near the edge then you may have a problem so you could lower the pump and angle it upwards first or whatever works best.

LOL i have a bio cube OCEANIC the way they designed it is messed up my wrasse used to jump into the middle where the bio balls are on top of that grate and sometimes into that third pump area.. all is well i cut a 1/2 inch piece of plexi glass and glued it right on the edge and nothing has happened since but don't get any glue in your tankkkkk

It's so funny that you posted this because my female percula sleeps on the back wall of my 24g nano cube and she has a habbit of jumping in the back chambers also. The male has never done this. It usually happens at night so I thought that maybe something spooked her. I was also trying to figure out what I could put back there to make the wall higher.....by any chance, do you have a pic of how you rigged it?

i had a YGC who jumped in the back multiple times. i cut up a fishing net and taped it on the back to block it. this would work better though http://shop.mediabaskets.com/product.sc?productId=7
