Yes another Bluespot Jawfish mort.
Man am I ****ed, I only just got this beautiful specimen and it jumped right through my eggcrate top found him on the floor this morning.
What do you have to do to properly cover the tank (other than glass)?

i would put either glass or an acrylic top on the tank for 2-4 weeks until the fish gets acclimated and use to the tank. is there any other fish that might be chasing him out of the tank?

jawfish are known to be jumpers, even through eggcrate. It needs to be sealed, whether with glass or acrylic or with a tight canopy.

It is a 100G tank

A Hippo Tang, Flame Angel, Yellow headed Gobie, are the most aggressive but they are pretty docile.
Thanks

I have two sheets of eggcrate covering the back of my canopy and covered them with pieces of nylon screen material. It prevents any fish from going through but still allows gas and heats exchange. Sorry to hear about your jawfish. :(

Ian, I wanted one but I was afraid of that happening so I had 1/4" plexi cut to size. Then I drilled 1/4' holes every square inch or so to allow the tank to breath. It's much more effective then egg crate and it cuts less light. Just be sure that it's cut very close to any equipment or eventually he'll find the gap. So far it's worked very well. He does however jump into the overflow every few days.
