Sump Design...Input?

So I am about build a sump for a 90 gallon cube and have been bouncing around some designs for the sump.

This design has a full siphon chamber which overflows into a chamber that has a removable filter sock plate, then goes under to a settling chamber for any larger particles to be vacuumed out occasionally. Then overflows into the skimmer section through a bubble trap into the return chamber. I have a separate refuge.

The drawing shows the above much better than I can explain.

Thoughts?

If you are going to use socks, why the settling chamber? Won't the socks get the large particles?

The drawing shows the siphon going deep into the sump. It should be less than one inch below running level.

the socks would only be put into the sump during cleaning or stirring up the DT.

It is just a rough drawing to for the design, actual dimensions of piping is not to scale.

Thank you for your input!

You should not be stirring up the tank in the first place however. The circulation rate should be high enough that stuff does not settle out of the water column.
