Sump design urgent advice please

I am literally just about to order my sump and wanted advice on the following layouts that I need to give him to build it. Which do you think is better? I'll be running a 100g DP at about 3500-4000 lph through the sump via a bean animal.

Thanks.

I like A, I want a chamber that is separate from my over flow section for constant water levels, for my skimmer. Plus, ease of access when the skimmer is in its own section. Make sure you have room for all your stuff in the return chamber i.e. return pump, heaters, top off equip. Just my two cents.

That's a good point. I need to work that out. Nice one. [emoji106]

I would say the last baffles should be over(with fingers) - under - over too.
Also, make sure you have enough room (water volume) to account for power off (your return section will fill a bit). But don't make it too small where evaporation will become a pain to keep topping off the system.

I purchased a Trigger Systems Emerald Sump is that essentually "A" and it works great. My only complaint is that I wish the fuge section was slightly larger.

I'm getting it down by ND Aquatics and that last baffle is how they do it as standard. I will ask them about adding a third. Also if the the water back syphons, and exceeds the return section, it should just overflow into the middle section shouldn't it?

Depending on the gap between the last two baffles a third may not be needed. And yes, it will just flow back into the middle and possibly the first section, again depending on height of said baffle for those sections. Just make sure which ever you are getting, you give yourself enough room to move/remove for cleaning and add equipment as needed down the road. The shop should have recommendations too.
