sump divider size

Hello,

I am getting a local glass shop to cut some dividers for my sump and i just wanted to double check the size.

I have a 40g long, which is the same footprint as a 55g, just shorter.

I am getting 11 3/4 width. is that too big or small?

measure inside. be sure to use thick enough glass. Also fill both side of the divider at the same time. Water is heavy and a lot of pressure against the glass with only one side filed. What do you intend to use as an adhesive?

i was planning to use 1/4 inch glass and aquarium silicone.

I would highly recommend "industrial strength #E6100" I purchased it from Tap plastic. It's a ton stronger than aquarium silicone.
