Sump Inna Box

So after 6 years of my 180, I am ready to tear down, learn from all my mistakes and start again (I doubt this will be the last post asking for advice, but this is the first). One of the major mistakes I made was sump space - my stand just doesn't have enough space for a decent sump/equipment, and the stand design makes it a massive pain in the rear to get a decent sized tank in there even if there was room (I ended up drilling and connecting 3x15G talls with 1.5" PVC in the end for the current setup, which was kind of fun, but kind of a lot of work).

Otherwise, I like the stand, so I don't really want to replace it entirely - I was thinking I would like to put a second piece of furniture right next to the main tank (there is plenty of space) that I can put a really nice big sump in and have decent access to everything.

Anyone have any ideas for a nice roomy piece of furniture that can accommodate a 50G+ sump plus equipment. I was thinking a hinged lid with top access and either a very strong/no bottom would be ideal, but I'm open to suggestions that don't entirely break the bank.

Thoughts?

How about an old wooden storage chest? Something like this:

I ran out of room on my stand and built a cabinet to put next to the tank for the gear that wouldn't fit underneath. I was able to keep my sump in the stand though. I just moved the ATO, dosing and miscellaneous items to the cabinet.

Here's a couple of pics and a link to the Picasa Album with more pics of the stand:

You set me up too well, so I have to do this...

It's my sump in a box!
My sump in a box babe...
It's my sump in a box!
Ooh, my sump in a box girl...

One... Cut a hole in the box
Two... Put your sump in the box
Three... (I have no lyric that makes sense here)

You can set up a frag tank on the stand next to it and have it all coupled into one system or if you have a wall that has a closet behind it, you could put the sump in the closet and plumb through the wall.
