Ive tried several diferent 5000k compact florescent (par38)
the cheto stays alive but doesnt thrive ... main tank has lots of MH
and there is alge growing in it not a problem but rather it grew in sump

you could get a light fixture from homedepot and a plant grow bulb from there also, cheato thrives in my fuge under that light.

On his site look at the left and click "map site". Scroll down to "My Review, Articles and Solution." On the left under "Review", click New Refugium Lighbulb.

Definitely look at that site. It has great info on fuge lighting.

I am using a 6500 k compact florescent from Home deopot and a $5 reflector from there also and my cheato has grown ten fold in a month. You wont be sorry with this inexpensive setup.
