Sump pump reef safe?

So I'm wondering if I can use a basement sump pump to help with water changes... Any substances in pump mechanics that may leach toxins ? All the
The research I've done has shown there impractical for being unreliable under 24 hr use but I just plan to use for quick jobs any info apreciated thx!!

It would work one or two times then it would likely rust out because them are not meant for saltwater

with the unknown complexity of a sump pump being used for waterchanges i would try to find a used pump that is made for saltwater .
what are you planning on doing with this massive sump pump anyway ? they really move a ton of water very fast and you should be siphoning the gravel to remove detrius during your waterchange also . a sump pump simply would be overkill IMO .

I use the sump pump to move water from my mixing station after siphoning I just got fed up with dumping buckets of water in splashing everywhere and I can had 20 gallons in 20 secs lol
