Sump question

should be fine, I heard as a standard rule you want the tank to turn over 10 times an hour at least, so 100 gal tank 1000gph, might want to go up to a mag 16 but a 12 should do you fine.

Thanks, but I should of do this before lol, actually mesure the space I have, and that 55 will not fit, well fits but it's almost to the top of the stand so it leave no space to work on LOL, now what? :) the space I have from bottom to top is 22", so I need something around 15" to 17" high, the with is fine :) Ideas?

lol I did the same thing with a 20g long in my 90 had to tear down the whole aquarium water rock and sand to put the sump in through the top :-), my arms are still sore. Well according to my "A complete idiot's guild to saltwater aquariums", by far one of the best books I've ever had on setting up/running/starting a saltwater aquarium, a standard 30G and 40G are 16 inches high the next thing up from a 40 is a 100G which is 72x18x18, and I imagine that if you have a brace in the middle of your stand you would have to put it in with the brace out then replace the brace. guess the 55 left you with about 2 inches of workroom lol.

Check craigslist or on here some people make custom acrylic tanks and I know pet safari in the lake mary area has a guy that custom makes wet/drys so I don't see why he can't do a sump. That or go with a 40G. Do keep in mind the mere dimensions aren't the only hassle when it comes to getting it actually into the stand, I've had to pop out more than a couple braces on stands and put them back in due to my folleys.

Do you have the phone number for the pet safari? I might give them a call or I might go with the 40G.
Also I do have to cut the left side panel of the stand to fit the tank thru it, I do have the center brace and I can't even fit a 20 thru it. I tried :)
Anyone would like to trade a 40 for the 55G lol.

their number is 407-388-0738, I'm sure you can find someone on here as well. You can't fit a 20Long in through the front???

My panworld works great. I use a 40 breeder and I wish I would of went bigger. That 55 should do very well.

lol you need to catch up on the post jay24k, he didn't get the pan world and he thinks the 55 is to tall, and with only 2 inches of work room inside the sump I am afraid I have to agree :-)

I don't know how brave you are, but if you're looking for a challenge you could always get some acrylic and build yourself a sump right there in the stand. (Or I guess you could do it with glass also).

OK. I think I'm getting an ocean runner pump 6500 flow rate 1700gph, this should be fine I think. I'm still looking for a 40G long and the overflow. I've been looking at the for sale forum non stop :)

It's too risky to drilled the tank if it craks I'll be in big trouble :), also I don't have the center brace, I'll have to put the sump throug the side, you can see page too for a picture of the tank.

I think its a good choice on the pump. Mine is a 1900 gph and its a little on the low side I think of water movement. Your tank is a 120 gal right? The overflow just order a new 1, its a hundred bucks. ORDER IT. lol

yeah tank is a 125, I'm getting the pump from someone in RC. 6 months old and he's got all the parts. not bad for $40 :)

i saw the pic before i posted, it looks like you have 4 center braces that could be removed temporarily.

Will the CPR150 (1600 GPH) work with Ocean runner 6500 flow rate 1700gph or should I go with the CPR that is rated for 1200 GHP, sorry for all the questions :)
