Hi all i was just wondering i just started out i have a 330ltr tank running a canister filter and i was told today that i would need to run a sump is it possible to pum the water from the sump to the main tank with the canister filter its just that the canister filter cost me $200+ i dont want to just put it in the cupboard.

Are you asking if you can use the canister filter as your return pump? If so, the answer is most likely, no. You could, however, use the canister filter as a means of running carbon or other filtration media either off of your sump or the main display tank. The sump would probably be a better place for this as it is then out of sight, but still working for you.

+1 on running it for carbon. but i dont think you can use it as a return pump...

I would just put it in the cupboard and use it for maintenance purposes or sell it.
