hi -
would you please tell me more about the overflow box and drain in fig 5 of your july '03 article?

dimensions LxWxH

# & sizes of drain plumbing in this box (is it a single 1.5" line?)

is the drain line pretty much a straight shot out of the tank, or is it hooked up to an air trap (ext'l durso)

guess: how much more flow would the drain (as opposed to the box) handle - 3500? 4000? more?

if i put a strainer on the end of the pipe like you show in fig 1 (except that i angle it down rather than up), will it noticeably impede the flow?

great info - thanks so far

That box uses a 2" drain. It is dimensioned at 24x12. The height I don't have in my notes. I believe it was 14" and the tank is 16". The tank is used to cure LR. I am not positive about the height figures however.

It could handle quite a bit more than 3000 gph (probably 2X that much), but as I state in my article it will start gettting more difficult to manage the noise, etc after that point.
