Sun Corals in low 60's?

Don't really know if this thread belongs in the advanced topics but all the other cold water reef questions are here so I guess I will post it.

If I remember correctly, Sun Corals (Tubastrea faulkneri) are a cool water species (or can at least tolerate it). What temperature range can they be maintained in? Can they go as low as low 60's?

Don't know if it's the same as the species sold for reef tanks, but orange sun polyps live here in the waters off New York.

there is a species located off the waters of NY? Any chance of a Latin name?

I've never seen orange sun polyps around here, but the related Northern Star Coral (Astrangea danae) can be found in areas of high current.

Looked up Astrangea danae and it does not look like what I've seen here. It is not common, but looks to the untrained eye exactly like orange sun coral in form and habitat. Bright orange, small round colonies, growing under ledges.

Next time you come across some, either get a picture or bring back a sample. Your not all that far from me. I'd like to see what your finding
