Sun Powered Reef

Hi guys!

Many people had heard about the propagation tank of a friend of mine, Machado de Sousa Coral Maternity: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showt...25&pagenumber=1

Machado de Sousa and Me are going to do an experience about using Natural Sunlight with corals TOTALY developed in a complete artificial environment, this way we will see if it is possible to return corals born in captivity to their natural habitat.

Some lessons will be taken from this experience for god or bad... will see.

I Left you some Pics:

This is the Coral Maternity:

This are two frags in my tank, we will see how they develop:

Later on i'll post some pics to let you know how they are doing.

Best Regards

I think he said he lives right beside the ocean, uses NSW. Plus the benefits of natural sunlight
Vitor, does your mate sell frags then?

Ireland is only 2.5 hours away by plane, and I fancy some of those.
I need some more colour, blues, purples & reds in particular.

I really love that pink acro frag of yours, keep posting growth pics please. :)

Let me know if he does.
Cheers
Conor.

Hi conorwynne!

If you enjoy good beer, god food, and talk about marine tanks please came to Portugal, you could see my outside reeftank, and then we take a trip to Machado de Sousa Coral Maternity site.

He's not selling any frags, propagating corals and see them grow is his hoobie, but why don't you ask him in person?

Take a look at his thread: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showt...25&pagenumber=1

Hight 520mm

Body 200mm

Pump 2500 lt/h

Take a look:

Now that's tempting, sun, beer & portugese cuisine.
I'll let you know if (when) I'm in the area - could be a while, children need to be fed ;-0

I would be interested in your old "small" ca reactor, you have great talents.
pm me if you feel like selling any stuff.

Regards
Conor.

Hi Vitor Pestana!

Always innovating!!!!!!!
Nice idea to observie the behaviour of corals born in captivity, with 3 months of age, underneath of the light of the sun, in your underground aquarium illuminated by the sun!
Ideas as these only can come from inventive persons as you.
I am honoured for supplying both twin coral babies for your experience. I’ll follow closely the developments.
I'm curious to know what is going on...: for good or for bad...as you say...:bounce2:

Cheers,

Machado de Sousa
