Sunbrite F Series LED light fixture

Hoek32 I followed almost the identical process as you, but increased it to 50% over a two month period and have had no problems what so ever. In fact after reading bimmer88's post I am now bumping it up to 70% over the next month. I would look into other issues than your lights.

Ya I second that... I think something else is going on other than your lights.... you should be able to put your percentage way higher with no issues.

Guys. What values would I set on Red, Green, Blue, Purple, White and UV to get a 14-20K color spectrum with my Sunbrite F V2?

Oh, say if Blue was at 40%, how would I set the other colors to achieve the 14-20K color spectrum?

Thanks!

You should be able to play with the settings on the app on your phone or ipad to get the colors you want.... I have a 24 hr cycle where the lights change from dawn to mid day and then ramp down to dusk.

Update:

Last week I was able to borrow a PAR meter from my LFS.

My tank is 21 inches deep.

I had set all LED colors to 90% and the light fixture is 6 inches from the water line.
The PAR readings were: top 300, center 150 and bottom 70. Seems low to me. This is the V2 that is supposed to have higher PAR readings because of the optics.

But with all colors at 90%, the lights were really, really white. So if I adjusted the whites down to about 50%, the color was a little bluer, but the PAR readings decreased dramatically. Top 175, center 75, bottom 25.

So I looked at each LED color independently and found that 12 out of 24 royal blue/purple LEDS were out, and the Blue LEDS were very dim, 4 out of the 12 Blue LEDS were almost completely out. The 4 UV LEDS were very dim at this time as well.

The LFS where I purchased the Sunbrite fixture is trying to contact the manufacturer to see about fixing this.

The remaining coral in my tank aren’t looking good at all. I had already lost 2 clams, and many of my coral are all bleached out.

Last night I rechecked each LED color independently again,, and now all of the Blue LEDS our completely out and all of the UV LEDS are completely out as well. Green, Red, and White are all fine. At least I can have a Christmas colored tank I guess.

Could this be the cause for my clams dyeing and my coral bleaching out?

The fixture is only 6 months old. All my coral were fine up until the 4th month of the fixture being in place.

I don’t know how long the LEDS had been out. The LEDS are so bright it’s hard to tell from the naked eye because if you look at them, they will burn your eyes out.

My water parms are stable and have been.

I'm not sure if I want to go back to using this fixture again.

Good to hear.

The store where I bought my fixture said I had to send it in for repair and that the store is going to loan me something in the mean time.

Hi.. Jon sent me a brand new light system and it arrived today. Im going to be shipping him the old one back !
Yeah that's what they did for me too... replaced my unit with a new one... I have my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen with this unit too since my warranty has expired....

Did you work with the manufacturer directly for this, or did you work with the store where it was purchased from?

Thanks

Hi. Just seeing how it's going with your light fixtures.

How is the coral growth going?

Hope all is well.

Thanks

Sunbrite timer settings?

Sunbrite timer settings?

I'm curious what others are using for their timer settings? Is there some logic behind the choices, or does it mostly boil down to personal preference as far as esthetics?

I'm also using a dark/sunrise/midday/sunset/moonlight/dark style 24hr timer, but as I just got the fixture I'm still sort of playing with the settings.

SIGNAL, a few questions about your timers...

I'm curious of your decision to not use the green LEDs at all? Personal preference as far as color, or other reason? What's the point of your midday timer only differing from the late morning ramp up by raising the white 2%? And why have the UV come back on 5% during your final 1 hour moonlight timer?

Curious to see/hear about other's timers and preferences!

PS... SIGNAL, I hope my questions don't come across as criticism, I'm genuinely curious if there is a method behind your choices.
