The threads a little old but seems to be the best place to start. I in the process of getting a 200G 72" DSA. I've been going back and forth on lights but I'm leaning towards the Sunbrite F series V2. Price is in a more reasonable range than some other options and most importantly I want a single 72" unit that can sit on tank. Hanging from ceiling is not the best option for me and I would prefer to pass on having to use a gooseneck type setup.
I have not seen a lot of recent info on sunbrite and curious how they are working out these days for everyone. In particular curious if they have fixed/improved on wifi options and more importantly worked out the issues with the blue LEDS and others going out.
From what I gathered from a dealer they have exactly one person in the US that handles everything. When I was considering the new F series V3 it took the authorized dealer weeks to get hold of him. The V3 should be available about now but I gave up on Sunbrite and for that matter LED's and went MH/T5 for a 72" fixture. There should be a phone/email on the Sunbrite website.
I've called no less than five times and left my phone number. I have yet to get a phone call. I spent over$1200 on one of their fixtures and can't get support.
this is unfortunate. I really thought they were going to become a major player in LEDs. but I think this poor communication and customer service has really killed their chances.
Sunbrite repaired/replaced my F2 fixture after my LEDs started going out. I just noticed the LEDs flashing at time of sunset which was my early warning sign something was wrong last time. Now I'm out of warranty. Anyone else have problems with the repaired/replaced fixture? The fix was fan.
I really like their hood setup. It grows pretty much anything. I need to get it fix somehow or figure out to diy the controller if I can't get a hold of them to get a replacement parts.
Crap... Why'd they have to take out the app??? How will we adjust our fixtures now? Guess resale value for our units are going to take a hit as well now that there isn't an app to control it.
Interesting.... over a year ago, I was actually considering getting the Sunbrites. For some reason at the time, changed my mind at the last moment. I'm glad I did. Really sucks for those that have the unit, as the unit really looked promising.
So unfortunate..... great products. But no commitment to sales and support killed the Sunbrite potential.
Not an app guy, but is there a way to get the app off someone's device and post that code for download? I know it's probably harder to do for Apple devices, but maybe for android?
