I have some wonderful experiences with these fun-loving anthias. I like their bright orange color and great personality. Sunburst are very peaceful, reef-safe fish ~ best kept single and with non-aggressive tankmates. Dimmed light and cooler temperature are preferred but will adapt well in brightly lite reef conditions.
Initially they will hide and may not eat for a few days but will eventually come out in the open water. I fed mine brine shrimp (soaked with Selcon). She loves them and quickly learned to take mini mysis.
If they feel save, they will hover in open water. You will know when trouble comes, they will be hiding... Good luck.

Day 4 615am
I think I got him hooked. I chopped up 2 pieces of PE Mysis and feed it to him. He at them all. He also swam towards it as soon as it hit the water. So hopefully I am on to something.
I will say this, QT is important for a fish that is a picky eater. Yes you are stressing them out by putting them in QT and then putting them in your display tank. But while they are in QT you can monitor their behaviors and making sure they are eating.

I have a few verry picky eaters, my trick is live baby brine. I hatch it in a shotglass , its super easy and no fishy can resist.
I start with just the livebabybrine and then slowly add stuff to if and reduce the amount of babybrine and after a few weeks they are steady eating whatever I trown in.
MY fathead preffers to eat smaller stuff. I have noticed he is rarely interested in mysis/bloodworms or other large items. sticks with cyclops/plankton/eggs ect.

Likewise, I think QT is a must for all newly acquired fish to avoid lost and costly mistakes.
IMO, Lyretail should be fine with Sunburst anthias. They will co-exist peacefully as tankmates. I might add, both are grouping fish and if you have two-of-a-kind, they may fight unless a pair (owner of a pair of Ventralis) ... a trio is ideal for anthias in a large settings.

Biology: Occurs inshore near coral reefs (Ref. 7300). Also occurs in small groups near caves, ledges and drop-offs (Ref. 9710, 48635). Also a solitary species, sometimes in loose aggregations (Ref. 48635). Secretive, swims upside-down (Ref. 37816).

Day 4 6:30am
Put a couple pieces of chopped PE Mysis and he attacked 1 piece immediately and left the other piece alone. He is definitely getting comfortable and starting to eat.
I am trying to keep him in QT until I can get him to eat anything that comes in the tank. I am going away in a couple weeks so I want him to eat for my wife when I am gone.

I tried the Brine shrimp w/ selcon and garlic guard. She didn't take to it. But that was one of the first things I introduced in the tank. I will try it again. I also have Rod's food that I want to try.
I plan on keeping her in QT until she is eating good. I don't want her to go in the main tank still not eating good. Hopefully she will be eating good by the end of next week.

Day 5
Was a little rough. Don't know what the deal was. I tried to feed the PE mysis and he did not take. He swam to each piece like he going to eat it, and then backed out. Then tried Rod's food (herbivore blend) he didn't even think twice about it. I was getting a little frustrated.
Day 6 (today)
I tried Rod's food again. Nothing. Then I tried a piece of Hikari Mysis, as soon as it hit the water he was there. Then he grabbed a second piece, then a third. After that nothing. Hopefully he will take to the Hikari. I try a post pictures of him today. I have a few things I have to take care of before. If anyone has suggestions on what they have fed, please post them. If you have any pictures of the awesome fish, please post them also.

Try smaller stuff. Cyclops and Rotifers. The H2O frozen Coral Food mix is great. Mine loves it and I've had him for 9 months now. Did you see it feed at the LFS or did they just tell you it was eating and been there a month? If it was $28, it's just a little odd it was there so long. Those fish don't stay around my store for about a week at double that price. Just curious of course 
Also test your tank parameters daily in a QT, especially ammo, trites, and PH. Is the fish able to control himself in the water column? Alot of times these fish are collected badly.

I was told Anthias was a fish that would require many small feedings throughout the day. since I never really heard otherwise I just approaced feeding that way since day 1. I target feed him 4-5 times a day and he never eats alot at one time.
Also he definetly likes small foods more then big food. I feed him a mix of hikari rotti and reef plankton aswell as cyclops. In my tank mysis,blood worms and brine are a treat once a week.
My fish get names when they graduate from qt, his name is Stewy after the lil kid on the family guy, haha he has the same scowl. Post a pic plz.
