I know that a 50 gallon would be adequate. Personally, seeing the fish operate in a 500 gallon, I'd hate to go much smaller. They do tend to pick a spot and hang there. They'll like an archway, so they can see everything while feeling sheltered.
sunburst anthias need less swimming room than the other popular anthias species. They tend to hang out under archways or coverings so I would think a 50 gallon could adequately house an adult, juveniles can probably go in smaller.
