I just picked from my lfs three days ago 3 sunburst anthias. Never had any luck in the past with them to get them to eat. If anyone has any input or tricks I would love to hear them

Are you putting them in quarantine? I had one previously and really think he could have benefitted from the quiet, subdued atmosphere of a qt system. Mine just looked stressed enough not to eat much. I regret not having a qt setup for him. :(

As for foods, he did show some interest in live black worms and frozen plankton.
Good luck. Awesome fish.

I have 5 including a teenie >1" female in the SPS tank. My oldest has been in my tank about 6 years now. QT is a must and try small amounts of Nutramar or order live mysids from LA. Mine were all weened onto Formula Two small pellets after a few weeks.

I've had mine for at least 4 years and it's one of my favs. Eats whatever - mysis, brine, krill, flake, pellets.

Ok, great input. I did not qt them as my Local fish store told me to slowly drip them in. Hopefully they will do well adjusting to the tank.

Definitely QT them, don't worry if they don't eat any other food besides mysis/brine. Sooner or later they should recognize flakes and pellets as food. It would help to have other Anthias for them to learn from too. Monkey see, Monkey do. lol
